Come and discover the installation RÉESPIRATION by artist Samuel Bianchini at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital on 7 June as part of Nuit Blanche 2025!
RÉESPIRATION is a work with both scientific and medical aspects. It stems from a commission initiated by healthcare professionals from the R3S Department (Respiration, Resuscitation, Respiratory Rehabilitation, Sleep) at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, together with other members of the hospital. This group wanted to explore the potential of art to address a fundamental and complex question: how can we harness respiratory empathy to foster well-being and, possibly, even promote healing?
RÉESPIRATION is the multisensory installation created in response. Sound, light and movement intertwine to explore respiratory empathy—the intuitive phenomenon that makes us synchronise our breathing with others. In doing so, it becomes a therapeutic mediator between mind and breath, opening new possibilities for wellbeing and care through the language of art.
