In northern Eure-et-Loir, a group of residents gathered within the Les Souâtons third place, in association with school teachers, is initiating an artistic commission focusing on access to culture and creativity for young people in rural and peri-urban areas.
Located between Rambouillet and Chartres, at the crossroads of Beauce, the Drouette valley, and the Chevreuse woods, the area in question is characterized by its geographical dispersion and a perceived lack of cultural offerings. Operating on an itinerant basis in several municipalities, the Les Souâtons third place is developing a community café, workshops, screenings, and artistic encounters, as part of an approach based on sharing, participatory governance, and everyday ecology.
Working closely with schools, the group of commissioners wish to launch an artistic project involving kindergartens, elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools in the area. The request aims to connect these institutions through artistic creations designed with the active participation of students, from the development of specifications to the creation of the works, in order to nourish the imagination, open new horizons, and promote exchanges between different classes and municipalities.
