An intergenerational collective of residents from the Creuse river basin has initiated an art commission centered on the river and the emotional ties that bind the region to this living environment.

Hailing from the municipalities of Éguzon-Argenton-Vallée de la Creuse, in the south of the Centre-Val de Loire region, the collective brings together people of all ages and backgrounds: working people, retirees, elected officials, technicians, and members of community organizations. Some are natives of the area, others are newcomers or have returned to their homeland. Together, they are committed to the recognition and preservation of the Creuse, a river that is now fragile due to multiple pressures affecting its water quality.

United around these issues since 2023, the group of commissioners wish to initiate an artistic reflection based on sensitive approaches, in order to strengthen attachment to the river and make visible the links that unite the inhabitants to this environment. The request is for a creation that draws on contemplation, mediation, and movement, capable of revealing the Creuse as a space of stories, memory, and future, at the heart of contemporary issues affecting living beings.
