In Moirans-en-Montagne and Villards-d’Héria, residents are initiating an artistic commission involving children in writing a play for young people about representations of living creatures, based on the figure of the lynx.
The commission is based on a shared observation: children are rarely involved in discussions and decisions about the future of living things, even though they have a sensitive and unique relationship with animals. Drawing on their experiences, imaginations, and knowledge, the project questions the place given to wild animals and how we build our relationships with them.
The new patrons wish to produce a locally-based theatrical narrative, involving pupils from two Cycle 3 classes in the two municipalities. Through a dedicated educational program, to be implemented in 2025, author Magali Mougel will draw on the children’s exchanges, debates, and points of view to foster collective reflection on coexistence with other forms of life.
Thanks to these workshops, Magali Mougel has been invited to design a dramatic work for young people, intended to be performed collectively by the children, notably through public readings as part of the IDEKLIC Festival in July 2026.
This commission is part of the Lynx project, led by la Société des Nouveaux commanditaires with the support of France Nation Verte, and developed within the framework of the National Action Plan for the Eurasian Lynx (2022–2026).
